First Aid Training

In line with the announcement from the DEL Chief Inspector, no person / provider may present full First Aid courses that are not SETA Accredited. The First Aid courses below are non-credit bearing and are not aligned with SAQA Unit Standards. 

Certificates of attendance will be awarded to all who attend these courses.
First Aid for Babes & Tots
This course is ideal for new parents / grandparents, nannies, au pairs, daycare workers etc. It will equip anyone who is responsible for a baby or small child, with key and lifesaving information and skills.

The following is covered:
- Introduction to First Aid
- First Aid equipment
- Basic safety guidelines
- Medical emergencies
- Trauma emergencies
- Basic Life Support (CPR / choking / artifical respiration)
- Additional information (childhood diseases / circumcision care / umbilical cord care)
Duration: 4 Hours
First Aid 4 KIDS
This course has been designed specifically for children aged 4 - 12 years.
They will learn key lifesaving skills and information to assist them in an emergency situation, if no other adults are around.

They will learn how to:
- Phone an ambulance
- Use basic First Aid equipment
- Stop massive bleeding
- Perform basic splinting
- Perform basic CPR
- Manage choking

 
Duration: 4 Hours
First Aid 4 TEENS
This course is ideal for children between the ages of 13 - 18 years old. It covers basic, but lifesaving, concepts of First Aid in emergency situations. Ideal for teenagers who do not want to / do not need to complete a full Basic First Aid course.
They will learn how to:
- Phone an ambulance
- Use basic First Aid equipment
- Manage wounds
- Manage burns
- Stop massive bleeding
- Perform basic splinting
- Perform basic CPR
- Manage choking
- Place someone in the recovery position
